WordPress Introductory Training

 WordPress is one of the most popular blogging tools on the web, making it easy for anybody to post their ideas, pictures, and audio/video. This introductory course teaches you how to get your blog up and running quickly while teaching you the right way to administer and customize your website. You will learn how to use the WordPress dashboard to customize your blog and maximize its impact.  Learn how to apply free templates to personalize your site, how to add pictures and how to automatically upload your posts to Facebook and Twitter to share with others.  Also, learn what plug-ins are, which ones are most beneficial to your site, and how to install and configure them.

Web hosting has changed a lot in the last few years. Gone are the days of paying through the nose to have a website on the World Wide Web. Nor must you be a technological genius to set up a website. There are literally hundreds of choices when it comes to web hosts these days.

So, how do you choose the right one for you? In some respects, it may depend on what type of website you are looking to host. Do you just need to host a simple brochure type site? Do you plan to write a blog? Or, will you need tons of bandwidth for photo galleries or audio-visual media? Knowing the answers to questions such as those is your first task.

However, there are a few essential features that every good web host should have. This article will outline these features, in no particular order.

1. A reasonable price. Unless you have very special needs, you should never have to pay more than $10 to $15 a month for dependable, full-featured web hosting. Writing a Wordpress blog post is pretty straight forward. Tagging a WordPress blog post is the extra step to get more traffic, higher search engine listings and page rank.

To get started click Write on the main panel and the Write Post screen opens. Then follow these steps to write your post and tag it using the Ultimate Tag Warrior and Tagalize It WordPress plugins.

• Fill in the title box of the new post.
• Choose or create a category for your post on the right side under Categories.
• You should have check marks in both boxes in the Discussion options panel.
• Do not put a password in the Post Password panel! That will keep your post from displaying on your blog. Only those with the password will be able to read it! Read the rest of this entry »
